Trees and Shrubs

Pieris japonica

pieris japonica flaming silver © 2013A splendid Pieris that puts on a striking show in spring with its bright red foliage. The leaves then age to pink with a distinctive silvery edge before turning dark green for summer. The variegation is a stand out in the summer heat.

Origin: China

Pieris Japonica Spring Candy A variety raised and bred at Yamina. Delightful dwarf globe. Unique, rounded, waved leaves which are bright red in Spring and in successive fluhes through summer. Superb tub plant or shaded border.

Pieris japonica Temple BellsAn evergreen shrub named for its large racemes of creamy coloured bell-shaped flowers. A neat, compact habit with the flowers being the key attraction.

Origin: China

pieris japonica valley fire Fiery oragne-red-pink new growth changing to cream then green. White flower heads. Similar leaf colurs to P.Bert Chandler but more vigorous, easier to grow and produces many more flowers.

Pieris japonica Valley ValentineA medium growing form with rich deep rose coloured flowers in showy droopy racemes. Superior colour to Flamingo.

pieris japonica variegata © 2013Slow growing shrub. Leaves edged creamy-white. Considered the best variegated cultivar of Pieris japonica due to its resistance to sun damage and also its cold hardiness.

Origin: China

A slow-growing and very compact dwarf eventually reaching 1m, with small dark green leaves, bronze-red when young. Flowers white but rarely produced.

A curious dwarf form of slow growth reaching about 1m tall and across, almost unrecognisable as a pieris, with leaves 1.2-2.5cm long, linear-lanceolate, shallowly toothed. White flowers, in simple racemes, are very sparsely produced.

A small, compact, domed-shaped shrub, 1x2m. very free-flowering, producing pure white flowers on multi-stemmed racemes, 12cm long and wide, above dark green leaves.
