psidium cattleianu strawberry guava © bron andersonThe strawberry guava tree – sounds delicious however the fruit is an acquired taste for many. A carefree, dry-tolerant tree producing abundant fruits throughout the year. 

Origin: South America

Epauletee tree. A large shrub or small tree with bristle-toothed, oval or ovovate leaves. The fragrant white flowers are borne in june and july, in drooping panicles up to 23cm long, followed by bristly, spindle-shaped, 5-ribbed fruits.Japan, China.

They are frequently grown as a wall shrub where they will attain a height of 5m or more;when grownas such, their long growths may be cut back immediatly after flowering. The are equally effective, though less tall, grown as specimen shrubs.There masses of hawthorn-like flowers are borne in early summer.
