corylopsis sinensis © bron andersonA medium sized, deciduous, spreading shrub with dark green leaves and fragrant yellow flowers. A vigorous grower good for screening and hedging applications. Commonly known as Chinese Witch Hazel.

Origin: Eastern Asia

This deciduous shrub, growing to height of 5 metres, has purple new foilage in spring and purple old foilage in autumn. with yellow flowers in early spring.

Corylopsis spicata Yellow trailing flowers from the dormant September stems like ornaments. The flowers are not quite as long as corylopsis sinensis but slightly chunkier. A small deciduous tree/shrub rarely more than 3-5 metres, better suited to morning sun or woodland

Origin: China, and Japan

CORYLUS AVELLANAAvellana is large, deciduous shrub, growing to 8metres tall. In autumn the foilage is yellow-gold like colour, them in mid winter and early spring yellow flowers form.

 

Corylus avellana AureaAvellana Aurea is also known as the Golden filbert or hazelnut, this deciduous shurb growing to 4 metres tall with a 3 metre spread, in a full-sun to part shade area can brighten up you garden with it golden coloured foilage. Flowering in spring/winter. A stunning plant with soft golden leaves and an eye catching display of cream-yellow catkins. Perfect planted against a dark backdrop.

Corylus avellana Contorta(Contorted Filbert)The common hazel was traditionally grown for poles used for fencing and building. It is also cultivated for its nuts. The name hazelnut applies to any of the species of this genus.Known by the following common names ; Crazy Filbert , ‎Harry Lauder's walking stick‎ or Corkscrew Hazel ... Extraordinary contorted and twisted branches that make, An amazing Winter display with their creamy gold catkins hanging from the bare twisted growth.Contorted Hazelnut is a male form that can be used to pollinate female hazels.Origin: Europe and western Asia.

corylus purpurea © 2014 (Purple Filbert)(Purple Filbert).Rich purple leaves ,they are larger and more richly purple if semi shaded. Hardy suckering species that will make a large shrub or small tree. I believe possibly a male form , although it is mostly planted independently of other corylus so maybe not being or giving pollination.

Corylus chinensis Chinensis is a deciduous tree growing around 20metres, and flowering in September to October, with a yellow bell like flower. Full-Sun, dark green foilage in summer. Very Hardly.

Corylus colurnaThe Turkish hazel is deciduous tree thats grows to 12 metres tall.  This low branching tree, has golden autumn colour with yellow flowers in spring and dark around glossy leafs in summer. Sun-full to part shade. 

Origin: South eastern Europe.

cotinus graceA large shrub famed for its attractive coloured foliage and rich floral display. Fantastic autumn foliage displays of red and orange and large panicles of yellow flowers during spring and early summer.
