A low-growing, compact sport of 'Boulevard' with dense bright blue twisted juvenile leaves and branchlets.A dense,compact ball of bright,powdery blue with distinctive curled and twisted juvenile leaves and branchlets.In ten years 50x50cm.Found as a mutation on 'Boulevard' and introduced c.1985 by Andrew Nursery,Australia.
Japanese cedar. A large, fast growing, broadly columnar tree with reddish, shredding bark and spreading or decurved branches. Leaves awl-shaped, densely crowed on long, slender branchlets. It resembles the wellingtonia( Sequoiadendron giganteum), but its leaves are longer and its bark has not the spongy thickness of the american tree.
A small to medium-sized, exotic-looking, hardy tree. Leaves lanceolate,3-7cm long, irregularly arranged, emerald green above, marked with 2 white bands of stomata beneath, becoming dark and bronzy by autumn. Cones usually in clusters, ovoid or rounded, 3-4cm across. It would be unwise to plant this tree in a windswept site.
Blue Chinese Fir. Magnificent large evergreen conifer with wide & tall pyramidal habit. The blue pendent needle tips are superb on a large specimen tree.
Young foliage golden yellow on small plants tending to become bronzy green with age. Slower growing and more suitable for hedging then the green forms.
Forms a tall column of green foliage arranged in more or less flattened fern like sprays. Cones often present.
Weeping cypress of bhutan. One of the most graceful and beautiful of all conifers. In cultivation, a small to medium-sized tree of conical habit, reaching a large size in the wild. The branches are ascending and are draped with long, pendent branchlets. Foliage a conspicuous blue-grey, in flattened sprays. Grown ouutdoors at the SHHG for 30 years and achieved a height of nearly 10m(2013), but it is seen at its best outdoors only in the mildest parts of the British Isles, making an excellent specimen for a large conservatory.
Found in the north of Baja california,(near to the US boarder)and in southwest california.It is bright green,sharply pointed leaves and small cones,to 2.5cm long. It makes a small neat tree but is rare in cultivation.
