Stately pyramidal tree of golden ( with blue-green hues ) needled foliage ... Often used for bonsai or pot specimen if leader removed for keeping restrained. An excellent specimen tree , with stiff horizontal side branching and a dominant upright leader. Makes a relatively narrow specimen compared to Cedrus deodara ( Himalayan Cedar ) for the larger garden although takes time to become large.
Grows to 3m high x 1.5m wide in the first 10 years.

Blue Atlas Cedars have wonderful silver blue needles and make handsome Evergreen trees of 15-20 metres in time. Pyramidal growth and rich foliage cover , with many sharply pointing branches make this a unique large garden feature.

The Deodar cedar is a lofty tree reaching 50m tall in the wild.It occurs in E Afghnistan:Hindu Kush;NW Pakistan:Karakoram range;N India:Kashmir;W Nepal;W China:southwest xizang(Tibet),at an altitude of 1,300-3,300m.It has horizontally spreading branches,slightly pendulous branch-tips and trunk diameter up to 3m.The long blue-green needles,grouped 20-30 together in false whorls,are 3-5cm long and 1-1.5mm wide.The pollen-cones are glaucous blue when ripening,later turning reddish brown,ovoid or barrel-shaped,1 or 2 together,7-13x5-9cm.
