Also known as American Beech or North America Beech. Smooth pale grey bark and bright green foliage. Can grow up to 30m under the right conditions. Has a shallow root system and can tend to draw much of the moisture from the surrounding soil. Produces edible nuts.

Japanses Beech, growing to 20m plus Metres, its a hardy but slow growing deciduous tree, yellow autumn colour. Can grow in deep woodland areas.

An outstanding variety also known as the Golden Weeping Beech. A rare, slow growing tree with pretty golden foliage. A weeping variety that will reach up to 4m – well suited to the patient gardener.

A form of Beech with a pyramidal form that is great for adding interest to garden beds. Narrow as a young tree but broadens with age. New spring foliage is bright yellow and darkens to a deep green by mid summer. Will also reward with lovely autumn tones. Performs best in partial shade and a well drained soil.

A very tall and columnar tree ideal for garden colour and tall screening. New foliage is coppery bronze which matures to a deep purple. The serrate leaves then turn bronze in autumn.

(Autumn colour pictured) Also known as Fastigiate Beech or Dawyck Beech. A large upright tree with a columnar habit. Mid green leaves turn a copper colour during autumn. This variety has a silver/grey bark with a wrinkled appearance. Flowering does not begin until the tree is at least 30 years old.
