Eucryphia lucida Ballerina Flowers pale pink with deeper pink edging to the petals and crimson stamens.

Eucryphia lucida Gillanders RosePink flowers, found and named after Ken Gillanders

The Dwarf Leatherwood. Small delicate leaves and white cup-shaped flowers during late summer. Considered more slow growing that other Eucryphia listed here. Ideal for sheltered positions. 
 
Origin: Australia

eucryphia moorei © 2013(Pinkwood, Plumwood, or Eastern Leatherwood) A handsome small tree preferring sheltered sites and rich soils. Bright green leaves tend to spread horizontally. Timber was used by earlier settlers. Flowers are white and fruit capsules are useful for dried flower arrangements. 

Origin: South Eastern N.S.W Australia.

eucryphia n nymansay © 2014Columnar evergreen tree reaching around 12m. Produces bowl shaped white flowers in summer and autumn. One of the most popular Eucryphias due to its cup-shaped fragrant white flowers and very prominent yellow stamens.

RHS Award of Garden Merit.

Origin: Australia

Deciduous shrub of compact medium size. Stems have winged corky bark. Autumn colours are magnificent crimson-pink. 3 metres tall.

euonymus alatus compoacus autumn colour © 2013Brilliant autumn colour in tones of bright red. A slow growing compact shrub suited for mass plantings and hedging or single specimen use. Grows up to 1.8m.

Origin: China, Japan and Korea

The Spindle Tree. Dark green leaves with a finely serrated margin. The fruit is a pink-red pod-like berry which splits to reveal the orange seeds that are favoured by many birds. The seed coat is digested and seeds dispersed in bird droppings. Wood was traditionally used for the making of spindles for spinning wool.

euonymus europeus red cascade © 2014Provides a dazzling show of autumn colour. Easy to grow, ‘Red Cascade’ is great for  hedging and has been long valued for its hard, straight and weighty timber. In Europe the branches were used for sinning wool and in Britain for making toothpicks, knitting needles and skewers.
