Maple

Lightly variegated leaves with pink edging when exposed to sun. Autumn colour orange and reds.Small upright tree, 12 feet depending on climate and culture.

Acer palmatum UkigomoFloating Clouds. Marbled white and green leaves like no other Japanese maple , ultimately a small feature tree. The new growth has diffused pink hues which gives a mystical ethereal effect. Imported by Arnold Teese from the revered John Vertrees.

Acer pentaphylluma truly beautiful and elegant maple , with distinct five-lobed deep green leaves resembling a fine leaf Bamboo. This species maple is considered to be perhaps the rarest maple in the wild and deserves a place in the better garden. Leafs out later than most maples, hardy and strong growth to about 8-10 metres. Terrific Orange and red autumn colour.  Hardy growing in Sun/ part shade.  Dad introduced this species from its Native China and often sent seed off his mature trees to renowned plantsman John Vertrees USA ( of Japanese Maple fame ). Acer pentaphyllum is a very rare and endangered maple species in the wild ; endemic to southwestern Sichuan in China, at altitudes of 2300–2900 metres. Acer pentaphyllum is a deciduous tree that grows with good vigour and the bambooesqe effect of its extraordinary foliage is beyond compare.

Acer platanoides Crimson King  A large deciduous tree , purple leaved form of Norway Maple. A quite hardy maple with spreading heavily branched form. Crimson King is a fast growing medium-sized deciduous tree. Leaves are large with 5 lobes , deep purple-crimson all summer. Flowers reddish-orange, in clusters on the bare branches. In Autumn the foliage turns orange & crimson.

Acer platanoides Crimson Sentry  Large Deep Black-Purple foliage from Spring till Autumn turn. A tall column form of Acer platanoides Crimson King. A wonderful specimen to highlight a landscape with color and it's terrific fastigiate habit.

Acer pseudoplatanus Esk SunsetDeciduous tree with an oval to pyramidal canopy and variegated foliage. Green and cream leaves with toothed margins, are heavily flecked with salmon pink or sometimes entirely orange-pink.

Acer pseudoplatanus Brilliantissimum Bark grey, branches grey to olive-green. Flowers yellow-green, in pendent racemes, April. Leaves from pink via yellow orange to light green.

Acer Rubescenswonderful tree ( 7-10 metres ) species of snake bark maple. The spring foliage emerges very shiny and glossy. The mature trees have gorgeous spring flower displays. Snake bark maples have wonderful striated bark , adding a nice contrast to the background of green bark . A beautiful very rare maple , native to mountain forests in Taiwan.
