A cascading or weeping form of japonicum. The leaves are quite large and in spring are a brilliant bright green. The overall shape of ‘Green Cascade’ is quite different than other forms in that it is far more sprawling when young. It does become much more dense with age. Like other japonicums it is in autumn that ‘Green Cascade’ really shines with brilliant displays of red, yellow and orange foliage.

Big leaf maple or oregon maple. Large deciduous tree. Largest leaves of any maple, typically 15–30 cm (5.9–11.8 in) across, with five deeply incised palmate lobes, with the largest running to 61 centimetres (24 in). Flowers in spring, greenish-yellow with inconspicuous petals.
Common name the Syrian maple is a Middle-eastern species of maple. Evergreen shrub.The leaves are normally gray-green.
