A lovely, rather slow-growing climber up to 7m high or more and as much across. Leaves narrowly oval 5-7.5cm long, dark polished green. Flowers 2.5cm across, very fragrant, white, becoming cream with age. It requires a warm, sheltered wall. In cold areas it is a very worthy candidate for conservatory.
Low growing evergreen sub-shrub/groundcover that will naturalise a semi shaded garden bed. Green marbled White leaves with pink new growth . Rarely more than 20-30 cm tall , fairly hardy shrub that will brighten any garden situation.
Perhaps the most spectacular of all the vines, a strong-growing species climbing to the tops of lofty trees. The broadly ovate or rounded leaves, often 30cm across, possess a heart-shaped base and 3-5 obscure lobes, clothed with rust-coloured tomentum beneath. Fruits 12mm across, black with a purple bloom. Large handsome leaves turn crimson and scarlet in autumn, giving a magnificent display. Best colours are obtained in poor soils or when the root run is restricted, such as next to a wall.
